I had the best time hanging out with Alex during his senior session—he was laid-back, easy to work with, and brought such a chill energy to the day (even with the Super Bowl just hours away!). A few years ago, I photographed his big sister, Carlie, in Mount Dora surrounded by books and indie charm—and while Alex went a totally different direction, he still followed in her footsteps in one sweet way: choosing the same location she loved so much for her second spot, Wekiwa Springs State Park.
We kicked off his session with a mix of classic senior portraits and cap & gown shots, and then switched it up with something a little more personal—his football gear. He brought his jersey, helmet, and football to rep the sport he’s loved throughout high school, and those shots turned out to be some of my favorites. He also brought along his favorite camo hat and jacket—another must for the session as a nod to his love for hunting and spending time in nature. It’s always awesome when seniors bring in pieces of who they are right now—it adds so much meaning to their session.
As we wrapped up along the trails and tucked-away spots around Wekiwa, I couldn’t help but feel grateful to capture another milestone for the Cichielo crew. And guess what? Their youngest sister, Alivia, is up next—and I already know we’re going to round out the trio with something special. It’s been such an honor capturing these moments for the Cichielo family year after year!
